THE LANDING, GIBSONS

Breathtaking Views Overlooking the Howe Sound

When approached to design a multi-generational house on a spectacular lot at The Landing on the Sunshine Coast, with breathtaking views across Howe Sound including the majestic Lions to the east and Mount Garibaldi to the north, we knew we had a canvas that demanded exceptional creativity. To fully grasp the potential of this expansive panorama, we could only start by studying a topographical map to comprehend the multitude of peaks and islands in the vista, setting the stage for a build that prioritizes the stunning vistas from every level of the home.

The Landing was envisioned as a sanctuary where elevated luxury meets the warmth of a family home. The homeowner, with a taste for fine craftsmanship and an eye for detail, was deeply involved in the design process. Utilizing 3D BIM modeling processes, we were able to bring the intricate design details to life, ensuring the client could visualize every aspect of their future home, as could the team at Lincoln Construction as they planned and executed.

As you enter the house, you’re immediately led to a modern open-plan space that seamlessly transitions to a deck which showcases the magnificent views. This setup creates an incredible space optimized for both relaxation and entertainment, embodying the essence of luxurious living melded with cozy home comforts.

Expansive windows frame the scenic ocean vista and bathe the interior in natural light, ensuring each area of the house feels warm, vibrant, and welcoming. We placed equal importance on creating inviting spaces that exude good energy and coziness. The residence boasts multiple large decks, with a blend of covered and uncovered deck spaces, adaptable room configurations, and an awe-inspiring top-floor primary suite, making it a testament to sophisticated living.

Designed with GNAR’s hallmark architectural style of ‘modern resilience’, this house features an optimized structural framework with load-bearing walls extending from roof to foundation, zero thermal bridges and a super air-tight and insulated envelope. This ensures the house remains cool during the summer months and cozy in the winter, allowing its occupants to luxuriate in its splendor year-round.
