A Modern Take On Mountain Living

Set within Whistler’s alpine neighbourhood, Drifter Way is a refined transformation of a legacy mountain residence into a contemporary retreat. The design reinterprets the existing structure through a modern Scandinavian lens, defined by simplicity, warmth, and a quiet sense of ease.

Shaped by its connection to the surrounding landscape, the interiors use a restrained palette of natural materials and bright, open volumes that frame expansive mountain views. The result is a home that feels grounded and calm, offering a quiet expression of modern mountain living.

Materiality & Detail

A curated palette of natural materials defines the character of the home. Warm wood tones are paired with soft neutral finishes and subtle tonal contrasts, creating a quiet balance between warmth and simplicity. Soft accent colours are introduced through fabrics and textiles, bringing a gentle layer of warmth and variation to the interior. The introduction of blackened steel in the minimalist fireplace and selected lighting elements adds a subtle sense of contrast and definition, reinforcing the overall restraint of the material palette.

A Calm, Minimal Bathroom

Just off the main living area, the bathroom reflects the home’s bright, minimal design. White tile and light wood millwork create a calm backdrop, while matte black fixtures add subtle contrast. Terrazzo flooring introduces a refined touch of texture and playfulness.
