Sustainable Home Design and Interior Design

Designing Sustainable Homes, From Structure to Interiors

GNAR Inc. is a building and interior design studio based in Whistler, BC, serving the Sea to Sky and beyond. We approach every project as a complete system, designing the home and its interiors together so nothing is disconnected, overlooked, or redesigned later.

From new builds and renovations to permitting and interior design, we guide projects from early concepts through to the final details. Using advanced 3D visualization, we help you see and understand your home before it is built, reducing uncertainty and creating a smoother path from idea to reality.

Who is GNAR Inc?

GNAR Inc is a sustainable building and interior design studio based in Whistler, BC, founded in 2016 by Edgar Dearden. The company was built on a simple idea, to keep the natural environment front of mind in every home we design.

We approach each project as a complete system. By integrating building design and interiors within a single 3D BIM model, we create fully coordinated drawings that support both permitting and construction. This gives builders, consultants, and clients a clear understanding of the project before construction begins, reducing risk, misalignment, and costly changes.

Sustainability is not an add on, it is a core part of how we design. From energy performance to material choices, our goal is to create homes that are comfortable, durable, and responsible, both now and into the future.

Why Work With GNAR Inc?

We guide projects from concept through to construction, coordinating with clients, builders, consultants, and municipalities every step of the way.

Our difference is in how we design. By integrating building and interior design from the start, we eliminate disconnects, reduce costly changes, and create homes that are fully resolved before construction begins.

Sustainability is not an afterthought. Every project is designed to meet BC Energy Step Code requirements, with a focus on long term performance, comfort, and durability.

The result is a more efficient process, fewer surprises on site, and homes that perform as well as they look.
